Sikinos is a Cycladic island of the Aegean Sea, located between the islands of Folegandros and Ios and is at a distance of 14 and 10 miles respectively. It’s distance from Piraeus is 102 miles.

Sikinos has three settlements: Alopronoia, Chorio and Castro. Alopronia (als = sea + welfare) is the small port of Sikinos. In the seaside village of Alopronia there are supermarkets, hotels and rooms to let, cafes and bars. Here starts the bus to Hora and Episkopi and the boat for excursions to the most remote beaches of Sikinos.

Castro, built on a cliff 280 meters above the sea, is an old fortified settlement from the 15th century. Here is where the square, the town hall, the clinic, shops and cafes are located.In side the church of Pantanassa there is a gilded carved altarpiece.
